This exhibition featured works made in reference to an anomalous hotel on the side of a highway in Toronto--The Valhalla Inn. Abstracting from the idea of 'Valhalla' to a general sense of a place one desires to be (in this case, a place with regards to making art) the installation had at its centre a 1:12 scale model of an earlier sculpture I made--The Temporary Katie Centre for Katie's Art--sitting on the printed volumes of essays I'd written while under the employ of a company that sold essays to students. This positioned the exhibition within the realm of self-referentiality, and layers of making, thereby situating the other works in the show in this context.
